GO: Best $100 we ever spent...

Chicago Children's Museum - putting out a "fire" while learning fire safety

In Chicagoland, we have so much to do! But, it does get hard, in the winter with two little ones. One family day, we were feeling pretty desperate, so we decided to plunk down the money and go to the DuPage Children's Museum in downtown Naperville. http://www.dupagechildrensmuseum.org/ - Admission is $8.50 per person, it would have ended up being $36 for one day. So, instead, we became a member for under a hundred dollars for the family. For a year, your entire family can visit over 150 museums nationwide, as many times as you want! Yeah!

lots of large muscle activities - great for boys with lots of energy!

So far, we have visited the DuPage Children's Museum, Chicago Children's Museum located on Navy Pier, Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview, and Minnesota Children's Museum in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Israel & Bella's supper they made for us...yarn spaghetti & felt pizza :)

Having museums that we can go to in Minnesota (where my family lives) and Ohio (where my husband's family lives) is a great bonus! Finally, a kid-friendly, free activity we can do on vacation. LOVIN' IT!

do it yourself bowling - means daddy picks up the pins

All the pictures are from the Chicago Children's Museum located on Navy Pier. We brought a picnic lunch and ate out at the end of the pier. Then, we rode our bikes all over the pier before going into the museum. The museum will also validate your parking, so you can park for a reduced rate.

Water works are the highlight - I love that they provide slickers!

  1. We were just there last month. We LOVE it!! Just curious if you "played" the whale in the water works room? Haha - we had fun with that one.

  2. Love this. I do think that you get more for your buck this way, even if you stick to just one museum.
