My Three Favorite Bargain-Finding Sites

Photo Disclaimer: Yes, these are my kids.

But, this is not an honest representation of my kids at the grocery store.

(This year we missed all the outdoor egg hunts, so we went to the one at our grocery store.)

“A penny saved is a penny earned.”

Coupons have gotten a bad rap in the past. If you are like me, you've spent hours and hours clipping coupons only to save $11. Hmmm... But, couponing has changed for the better. Let me show you.

There are some crazy wonderful people that actually take the time to match up sales with all the existing coupons that have been printed in the newspaper or online. As you will see, it is better to use a coupon with an item that is on sale. You, essentially, are doubling your savings.

Then, there are a few more ways to add to this process. There are store coupons, that stores like CVS, Walgreens and Target, also make available. You can use these store coupons, along with a newspaper coupon, along with a sale...now you've just tripled your savings!

Now, do wanna get really crazy? Now, add on an app that offers additional savings and you are killin' it in the savings department!! (More on the savings apps later!)

Here is a typical example from Totally Target, showing how you can save on an item that is on sale.

Orbit White Single Packs .99 (Regular Price)

-.50/1 Orbit Gum Target Coupon x5/25
-.75/2 Orbit Gum Packs 14 piece or 3 pk 3-2-14 RP x6/1
= .73 for 2 or around .37 each after stack

So, instead of paying .99 cents, with coupons you pay only .37 cents. That is more than a 50% savings. You are probably thinking, so what?! I saved .62 cents? Big whoop! This is just an example on how you can save on almost every item you purchase. That means you are saving over 50% on your entire bill!

Here are my three favorite couponing websites:

1. CouponMom

This is a great site! She has lists of all the sales for gibillions of stores all throughout the United States. She also links to many printable coupon sites. But, the list is really your best friend. Below is a small portion of normal week of sales listings at Target. (Note: this site has a great couponing tutorial, if you are new to couponing.)

  1. First of all, choose your store.
  2. Notice the list is organized by percentage of savings.
  3. Choose the items you want to purchase.
  4. Print out your list.
  5. Cut the coupons that correspond to the items on sale. EASY!

2. Mojo Savings

This site is wonderful for finding all sorts of amazing sales. Their tag line is "surfin' for deals so you don't have to." They post when Amazon has a major price cut on a certain item, free magazine subscriptions, freebie deals to nab, sweepstakes to enter, etc. It's a fun site to just pursue.

3. Totally Target

This site is pretty fun. I think she lives at target because she is constantly finding unadvertised deals and then linking these deals with coupons. I will say, this site is a little more confusing than the others, but, if you love Target, you will spend the time to figure it out.

I hope this post helps you stretch your dollars a little farther!

Blessings, Kristen
