Summer Bucket List

I had a tough week, last week. My baby girl turned six. ;(

You know those moms who drink champagne on the first day of school at the bus stop? That would never be me...I would be that scary mom, crying her eyes out, mascara running down her cheeks, while following her baby's bus to school, to make sure she made it there safely.

Every day of the year.

Seriously.

How adorable is she?? She was Pippi Longstocking last Halloween. p.s. pay no attention to that corn-stalk malfunction in the background. :)
But, I am not the only one in my family that's nuts either, by the way! Bella had her dance recital this past weekend as well. They begin playing "Butterfly Kisses" and my husband lost it...yes, there were tears involved. The only awkward part is, Bella wasn't dancing to this song! :)

Which leads me to my point of the Bucket List. It really is crazy how quickly they outgrow their little phases. My kids wanted to make snow ice cream for the past two years and somehow, I didn't go out and grab a bucket and make it for them! aaaggghhh!!! why!!?? I always think, "oh, we can do it another time." This year, if we hadn't gone sledding the ONE TIME it snowed, we would not have had the chance. The same goes for ice skating, just ONE TIME. It just re-invigorates me to make sure to GRAB EVERY MOMENT. The year, the time, and life goes by way too fast. Your opportunity does not always come back around again.

My husband does such a great job of grabbing each moment. This picture makes me laugh so hard! Yes, he just got nailed by a "hay-ball" :)

So, this week, we are having our Parent's Life Group over to our house and we are making FAMILY BUCKET LISTS! Our life group leaders have come up with a super cute project that will get the entire family involved...I can't wait!

Super cute, easy for everyone in the family to participate (even the teeny-tinys!) and fun to leave out all summer long! Thank you Jacki, for making up this prototype for us! Sorry I didn't warn you this was going on the blog! ha!
This year, we asked our kids what they want to do this summer and they definitely surprised us...Israel wants to go fishing. whaa-whaat?? Ok, well, I'm glad we asked!!

I hope you grab up every single moment with your family this summer,
Kristen
