DO: A Closet Takeover

all those tiny little purses I never wear! but, they make me happy :)
Once upon a time there was a closet... and, it had one too many people in it...that would be "the husband". So, to help us live happily ever after...one of us had to move on. And, it wasn't going to be me. :) So, I staged a CLOSET TAKEOVER. I had been crammed into a teeny little space for my vanity area, in the darkest corner of our bedroom. Meanwhile, getting dressed in the morning was a sight with both of us battling for space in our overcrowded closet. Sadly, I forgot to take before picture...but, it really was so horrible, I don't think I would have showed you anyway!

Here are some pics of my new closet. Plenty of space for a desk/vanity, a three-way mirror (which I am now haggling for him to build), hanging and folded clothes, and a bookshelf...gloriously filled with shoes! My favorite is the vanity...well lit, lots of space and mirrors. And, now I can see that I don't need to buy any makeup in the foreseeable future. ha!

Check it out...

double clothes rack
finally can see all of my shoes...and I would be lying if I said this was all of them! :)

pièce de résistance!!  I love my new vanity! (and it is brighter than it looks)

And the 5 minute face...instead of the 25 minute jumble!
I have two sets of these to separate all my "gear".  So easy to find whatever I need!
I seem to buy the same colors over and over...
now, I know I don't need another PINK nailpolish!

My favorite "crusty" old mirror. Love it.
This ended up a little more fru-fru than I rarely do things...but, the walls were a pale pink...what could I do?? :) Anyway, as an FYI...the desk, lamp and tin organizers were all purchased at IKEA. The metal organizers were found in their gardening section. So cute!

Hope you get invigorated about making your own private space a place that is free of clutter and full of things you love.
