Our Trip to the Creation Museum

I promised in my last post Creation Resources for Kids, that I would share some pictures from our trip to the creation museum. Disclaimer: ever try taking pictures with your iPhone in a dimly lit area?? Ok, so the pictures are not fantastic, but I really didn't feel like lugging the Nikon along with all my other jazz all day. Thanks for understanding. :) I just wanted to share what a beautiful and quality presentation is made by the Creation Museum. For more info, cost, maps and tickets, please click on the link to go directly to the Creation Museum site.
This was our first view. We arrived the Friday night after Christmas. It was beautifully decorated with lights. Somehow, I missed the pictures of the lights that looked like dinosaurs. They have a huge piece of property that has the museum on one side of the lake, then a petting zoo, camel rides and more on the other side of the lake. We didn't make it to the other side, because it was 100 degrees below zero.
This was one of the many stops along the way of the Living Nativity. It was one of the best presentations I've ever seen.

They had many amazing living animals on display in the museum. Poisonous Dart Frogs were my favorite, of which I didn't take a picture, because I am smart like that.
Loved their beautifully designed displays. There were simple enough to capture a child's attention and yet, tons of in-depth info to interest an adult. Since we were with my kids, we did the warp speed version of all the reading displays. :)
This was how we kept them occupied, while we tried to read. :)
I wanted to include this without the crazy people in front of the picture...such great explanations contrasting the differences you end up with when you start with "Man's Word" vs. "God's Word" worldviews.

How to make a museum fun! :)
Adam naming the animals.
I like to get in at least one picture, or my children will never remember what I looked like...or that I was there... or that I'm their mother...nevermind Adam and Eve cavorting in the background. :)
This was amazing...the Tree of Life.
This picture illustrates what a bang- up job they did to make this museum interesting to all ages. They had small scale models all around the room, a cutting edge video, computers with learning games (that's what attracts the kids, go figure!) and puzzles for the younger set. So much to look at, read and absorb.
More wonderfully informative artwork. Great for the visual learner.
Mamaw & Papoo took the trip with us and made it such a fun day for all of us!

The Creation Museum has a huge new project...they are in the midst of building a true-to-scale Ark! Check out this site for more information.
I hope you enjoyed seeing a little portion of of our trip to the Creation Museum.
Blessings, Kristen
